With election day coming soon...we knew we needed to bring this message to you in the middle of our break between season 1 and season 2! Our guest: Erin Geiger Smith is a journalist and a writer of 2 amazing books called Thank You for Voting, both for adults, and a young readers addition. As we understand the right to vote, and how we can better prepare our young people to become voters, we all get to participate in something that so many fought for for years!
This episode is a completely non-partisan conversation about why young people should be involved in the process and education of voting. Erin does a great job of helping us to not get wrapped up in the politics...but to participate in sharing our voice in the policy that we each do care about. There are no downsides to being a voter!

God of the Impossible
Thursday Sep 17, 2020
Thursday Sep 17, 2020
This episode is incredibly close to our hearts. Tawni felt so strongly that she needed to study the topic of the God of the Impossible, and as she wrote this episode she knew it was for someone specific. A few weeks later, after some devastating news she realized the episode was for her. God is a God of miracles, he can do the impossible. When we think there are no possible solutions left...he will provide a solution that we thought was impossible. This episode has brought comfort in the face of an impossible time, and we hope it will do the same for you.
Stay tuned for Season 2. We are excited to continue to Become right along with you!

It Didn't Work Out
Thursday Sep 10, 2020
Thursday Sep 10, 2020
Next week we will be airing our 100th episode! Which by the way you will NOT want to miss, but we wanted to share a few things in this episode before you listen in next week. Over the last few months...a lot has been happening behind the scenes. With all that has happened and changed, we felt it fitting to let you know about Season 2 of Becoming! The heart of Becoming will be the same, we will always be keeping the teen in mind. However the teens who have been listening from the start are no longer teens, and we have a ton of adult listeners. We are going to be more inclusive of the other demographic of listeners that we have here as well...and just continue sharing the heart of what this podcast has always been about. Becoming more than we are and who we were always meant to be.
We also talk a bit about the topic "It Didn't Work Out". Tawni shares about her recent divorce and how she has been able to find new perspectives to hold onto as she has hope and faith that even when things don't work out, the best is still yet to come. We will experience many things not working out in this life...but the person who we become because of those disappointing experiences is exactly the person who God wants us to grow to be.

As a teen Tawni was terrified of speaking in front of others. No way! Would you believe it after hearing what an incredibly gifted speaker she is today?
